1. I have an unusually long tongue. I can touch my nose or the bottom of my chin with it. A photo of it was used on a promotional poster (created by my former editor) for Oregon's Democracy for America group a few years ago.
2. I can't tell left from right, which makes me a road hazard when someone is trying to give me driving directions in the car, and reaps havoc when I am trying to issue stage directions to actors...heh.
3. I cracked my tail bone when I was thrown from a horse and landed straddling the pole we were jumping. I broke my nose being thrown from a horse and smashing face first into a similar jump pole and I got my first concussion when a horse smacked me in the face with its lower jaw. (I guess that's kind of three, and probably not as interesting so much as sad).
4. I once had my brakes go out coming down out of the foothills around my home town and had to coast down a winding road until the car slowed enough to use the emergency brake.
5. I have a sad, disturbing habit of locking myself out of my house at least twice a month. I'm not exaggerating. I have had to make sure there is an extra key available to me at all times.
6. I once climbed up a laundry shoot from the basement to the first floor, just to see if I could.
7. I wrote my first short story when I was 8...I published my first story when I was 9. It was for a in-house hospital publication...my mom helped a little.
